The tenement house in which our hotel was built has a long and storied tradition. The owner, Mr. Adolf Liebeskind, received a building permit in 1907, and his visionary building has survived to this day.

The tenement house in which our hotel was built has a long and storied tradition. The owner, Mr. Adolf Liebeskind, received a building permit in 1907, and his visionary building has survived to this day.  

Adolf Liebeskind, whom acquaintances called Dolek, was best known for his involvement in partisan activity during World War II. He headed the Jewish Combat Organization (ŻOB) in Crakow, which in cooperation with Poles, undertook combat operations against the Germans. He participated in many battles. He was shot by the Gestapo during an attempted arrest on December 24, 1942.

Among the residents of Liebeskind's tenement house was Józef “Czarny” Grzesiak, an infamous soldier in theHome Army andGray Ranks.
